Meet The Committee

Ian Meade
I’ve been a member of the club for 40 years, 30 of these as chairman, and 20 years hacking in S&D and Vets teams. Now not playing (much). My day job is a Design consultant, and I’m a grandfather, runner/walker – and as much else as I can cram in.

Nigel Godwin
I have been a social squash player at the club for nearly 30 years. When I moved to Barnsley, the club introduced my serious squash playing girlfriend (now wife) and myself to many people and led to some long friendships. I now administer the club’s internal squash leagues. Being a member of the internal leagues gives you the big benefit of playing a wide variety of different opponents.

Lee Greaves
I’ve been a club member for 10 years. I Manage the club’s internal squash tournaments and also act as overall manager of the club teams that play in external competitions.

Malcolm Harrison
I joined the squash club in September 1981 and joined the Committee in June 1982. At this time courts 3 & 4 were built.
I was elected Secretary of the Club in August 1983.
Court 5 was built in 2001/2002.

Shane O’Keefe
I’ve been a club member for 10 years. I Manage the club’s internal squash tournaments and also Act as the club’s facility manager, taking care of  maintenance and improvements. I also administer the on-line court booking and information system.

Paul Westwood
I’ve been a club member for over 30 years, a committee member for over 10 years and in second year as club treasurer. If you can’ t find Malc, I’m the Paul who can sell you balls & grips!

Tony Exley
Often called “Tracky” (due to my love of a good Tracksuit!) have been a member of the club for far too many years than I wish to declare and have enjoyed being a member since day one. I play 2 to 3 “friendly” games of squash a week and often help some of the teams out when they are struggling to field a squad. (bottom of the barrel pick, I know!). Please feel free to contact me at anytime if there’s something I can help you with at the club.

Jim Uttley

Jim Uttley
I’ve been a member at Barnsley for about 10 years and somehow managed to win the Club Championship in 2019, one of my greatest days alongside the birth of my two children… You can find me on court most days, sweating profusely. I help organise team squash at the club so if you’re interested in playing for any of the teams come and have a chat.

Andrew Tressler (Trez)
Andrew is an England Squash level 2 coach with a wide range of experience from junior county to Yorkshire league levels.  “Trez” is our resident coach and as well as offering coaching for all abilities he also runs group sessions for juniors and adults, as well as running a ladies only session on a Thursday evening. Trez also runs the external teams and manages the club shop. (Display cabinet in the main hallway).
